If your harley clutch lever leads to a clutch cable slacken the cable at the adjuster. When i say full or complete adjustment it means adjusting the clutch inside of the primary at the clutch basket. Designed to protect the clutch adjuster mechanism from dirt water and particularly juicy airborne arthropods the clutch cable cover or boot is the accordion looking piece of rubber that resides. Often cable adjustments are made to vary the amount of friction zone or get more pull when shifting begins to slip. Hold the end of the cable straight upward and work some lube into the cable once again allowing gravity to pull the lube down into the cable. Remove the clutch cable cover.

Do it in your garage or your workspace. Remove the pivot pin so that the clutch lever and cable end can be removed then remove the harley clutch lever. Slight clutch adjustments can be made at the cable at the front of the bike. Shop clutch parts.
